NOVUS, a lightweight electric two-wheeler startup founded in 2019, has secured a double-digit million funding round led by 468 Capital. The company began delivering its first model, the NOVUS One, to European customers in spring 2026. The vehicle blends the simplicity of an e-bike with motorcycle performance, targeting both traditional riders and car drivers.
The NOVUS One features a self-supporting carbon frame, a 6.2 kWh battery offering a claimed range of up to 150 km, and a peak power of 25 kW. It can accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in under two seconds and charges to 80 per cent in 90 minutes. Priced from €21,300 excluding tax, it prioritizes premium design and emotional appeal over initial mass-market accessibility.
Backed by over 30 investors from diverse industries, including former executives from Tesla and Lucid Motors, NOVUS is deliberately avoiding rapid scaling to prevent supply-chain issues. Instead, the company focuses on smaller production volumes and direct customer relationships.
The new funding will support further European expansion and a planned US launch by late 2027. It will also fund the development of the NOVUS Two, a more affordable, higher-volume model scheduled for production in late 2027.
