Ukraine's state-backed digital education ecosystem, Mriia, connects school administration, teachers, students, and parents within a single platform. Initially piloted in 40 schools and now reaching more than 3,700 schools and one million users, the platform aims to expand to 7,000 schools and 1.5 million active users by the end of 2026. Supported by international partners including the Swiss-funded EGAP Program, UNICEF, and Google, the platform is provided free of charge for families and schools.

The platform integrates AI tools to reduce the time teachers spend on repetitive tasks, such as generating tests. Currently utilizing Google's Gemini models, the system can generate tests in minutes based on textbooks and education ministry materials. The development team is also testing alternative models, including Google's Gemma and the Ukrainian model Mamai. Furthermore, a knowledge graph focusing on mathematics to identify knowledge gaps and computer vision technologies to analyze handwritten homework are being explored.

Mriia plans to develop an AI tutor integrated into the educational process that uses the Socratic method to guide students rather than providing direct answers. To increase student motivation, a gamified rewards system called Mriikas, which does not rely solely on traditional grades, is being introduced. As the platform currently lacks an offline mode, its usage remains dependent on mobile connections during power outages.
