Defense and autonomous systems company TEKEVER has announced plans to establish its first Nordic operational presence in Odense, Denmark. The decision follows a meeting in Copenhagen with Danish Minister of Defence Jeppe Bruus. Alongside the expansion, the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO) will join the company as an investor.
EIFO has committed to participating in the closing of TEKEVER's $580 million Series D financing round, which was first announced in 2026 at a valuation of $6.4 billion. The company, which develops AI-centric autonomous systems for defense, security, and civil applications, will build its Danish entity in phases based on demand and approvals.
Odense was selected for its established drone and robotics ecosystem, hosting facilities like Odense Robotics, UAS Denmark's International Test Centre, and the University of Southern Denmark's Drone Centre. TEKEVER CEO Ricardo Mendes described EIFO's investment as a significant milestone, noting that the company aims to contribute to the sovereign industrial and technological capabilities of Denmark and the wider Nordic region over time.
Already working with Danish partners, the company plans to explore how its dual-use systems can support the monitoring of critical offshore energy infrastructure. EIFO CEO Peder Lundquist stated that the investment creates potential for greater Danish industrial participation in the European defense sector. The new hub joins TEKEVER's European network spanning Portugal, the UK, France, Germany, and Estonia.
